Positive note for the Ibex in the start of a session very marked by business results. Telefónica, Repsol and DIA, three of the big companies that have presented figures, have opened in green and have given a pull to the Ibex that awakens with rises of 0.44%, to 9,518 points.

Telefónica (+ 1.39%) earns 2,369 million in 2016 while DIA (+3.18%) reduces its profits. Repsol (+ 1.5%) shines and returns to profits. From a technical point of view, investors are still waiting for the Ibex to surpass the year's highs at 9,623 points. Underneath, the first support is in the lows of last Friday, in the 9,477 points.

Red Eléctrica, which has also presented its figures, has achieved a profit of 636.9 million euros in 2016, which is 5.1% more than the previous year. Endesa or Mediaset also present their accounts.

OTHER REFERENCES OF THE DAY

In the rest of Europe, the continent's main stock markets are expected to maintain the tone with which they closed Wednesday's session.

Wall Street's main indexes ended the day mixed, with a Dow Jones that chains nine consecutive days of highs, its best streak in three decades. The index rose 0.16% and closed at 20,775.6 points. For its part, the S & P 500 and Nasdaq ended the day with falls of 0.11% and 0.09%, respectively. The economic scene has been dominated by the publication of the minutes of the last meeting of the Federal Reserve, which reveals that there will be another "very soon" rate increase.

DISAGREE IN THE RESCUE OF MONTE DEI PASCHI

In relation to European banks, Brussels and the European Central Bank (ECB) do not agree on the rescue of Monte dei Paschi di Siena, as the Financial Times points out. The main point of disagreement is in the 8,800 million euros that Monte dei Paschi needs to be refloated and how they will be returned by the entity to its creditors.

In the macroeconomic environment, GDP in the fourth quarter in Germany stood at 1.2%, in line with expectations.
