El ciclista británico Simon Yates, del Mitchelton-Scott, ha ganado este domingo la decimoquinta etapa del Tour de Francia, disputada sobre 185 kilómetros entre Limoux y el inédito puerto montañoso de Prat d'Albis, mientras que el francés Julian Alaphilippe (Deceuninck-Quick Step) ha sufrido para conservar su liderato en la clasificación general.

Yates fraguó su victoria con un estirón, a menos de 35 kilómetros para el final, de entre el gran grupo de escapados que había llevado la iniciativa durante el tramo más importante del día. El francés Thibaut Pinot (Groupama-FDJ) acabó segundo a 33 segundos, gracias a un ataque que provocó sudores a un Alaphilippe que salvó la papeleta.
