Después de la agradable sorpresa que me dio el estreno de “Prim, el asesinato de la calle del Turco“, estaba deseando echarle un vistazo a “Víctor Ros“, la nueva serie de seis capítulos de RTVE basada en las novelas y el personaje homónimo de Jerónimo Tristante: un policía diferente en la Madrid de finales del siglo XIX que tiene que resolver una serie de casos. Aunque conocía su saga de oídas y me la habían recomendado en más de una ocasión, tenía ciertas reticencias y nunca llegué a darle la menor oportunidad al libro. Me arrepiento bastante, porque no me gusta ver una película o serie que está basada en la literatura sin haber catado antes el placer de su lectura. Pero esto también, sin embargo, tiene una gran ventaja: ninguna expectativa en concreto para “Víctor Ros” más allá de la contextualización del equipo artístico de la serie y la actuación de los personajes.
Crítica de “Víctor Ros”
Sinopsis
Ayer se emitió el capítulo 1, que abarca el primer libro de la saga Víctor Ros: “El misterio de la casa Aranda“. En este episodio inicial se nos hace una introducción del personaje y conocemos al protagonista en su adolescencia. En ese momento, no era más que un chirlero con mucho ingenio y una gran admiración hacia el Ulises de Homero. Víctor Ros tiene la suerte de toparse con un policía (Tito Valverde) que pone especial interés en su formación, ya que confía en su inteligencia y cree que será un gran policía. En apenas un segundo asistimos a la transición de ladrón callejero a inspector.
Víctor Ros (Carles Francino) vuelve para enfrentarse a un curioso caso lleno de esoterismo. En la casa Aranda se ha repetido un crimen que ya ocurrió hace cuarenta años: una esposa apuñala a su marido con intención de matarlo. Se sabe quién es la culpable, hay testigos y las pruebas están claras, pero hay algo que no termina de encajar en todo este asunto. ¿Es posible que la casa esté de verdad maldita y el crimen pasional esté condenado a repetirse cada cierto tiempo?
Al mismo tiempo, hay un caso para el padrino de Víctor Ros que recuerda a Jack el Destripador y, de hecho, se plantea la posibilidad de que sea un imitador, aunque hay detalles diferentes. Este asesino de prostitutas deja una bolsa con 30 monedas de plata como señal de venganza, pero no hay muchas pistas para encontrarlo. Don Armando es de los únicos policías que de verdad se preocupa por estas mujeres y aquí es donde entra en juego Lola (Megan Montaner), que en este primer episodio tampoco ha hecho mucho.
Opinión
Tras un repaso somero libre de spoilers y detalles significantes, vamos a la opinión general del primer capítulo de “Víctor Ros”. Lo cierto es que no me ha decepcionado. He encontrado una serie española de misterio ambientada en el siglo XIX que no solo me ha entretenido, sino que también me ha gustado y mucho, tanto como para tener bastantes ganas de ver cómo sigue.
Ahora bien, tiene algunas cosas en contra que hay que perdonarle. Habría sido mejor que se tomaran más tiempo para dibujar a los personajes y que el episodio estuviera partido en dos, ya que hacer una introducción en la que se intenta abarcar la personalidad de la adolescencia y el abrupto cambio de ladrón a policía bien habría merecido unos minutos más en pantalla. También se nota que el tiempo está comprimido y apretujado en la resolución del caso; da la sensación de que todo es demasiado rápido, casi fortuito, a golpes de suerte en vez de ingenio.
Algunos diálogos de besugo tampoco ayudan. Sé que es una de las partes más difíciles a la hora de escribir y, por supuesto, de interpretar con soltura, pero si la base falla, da igual cómo se haga todo lo demás. En vez de buscar lo peliculero podrían buscar una sencillez más realista. Está claro que estamos ante un producto de ficción televisiva que busca acaparar el mayor rango de espectadores posibles y necesitan tirar de frases con gancho.
Estas dos son mis mayores objeciones con respecto a “Víctor Ros”, el tiempo y los diálogos. El resto creo que no está nada mal (salvando alguna de las actuaciones, como la de Esmeralda Moya, que estaba algo almidonada) y si sigue la línea de las investigaciones con propuestas interesantes, va a triunfar sin duda. Ahora bien, que no se pierda en el triángulo amoroso entre la señorita rica y la puta porque eso podría estropear todos los logros. Si lo hacen, Dios quiera que sea con moderación.

Pues no me ha gustado Víctor Ros. Tengo “mayores objeciones”. Leo críticas, pero nunca las escribo, esta vez o escribo o reviento: puse de mi parte para que me gustara.
Es una serie superficial… otra más. La historia se convierte en una cosa que no nos importa mucho, con personajes superficiales sin verdadero carácter. Por encima de los de problemas de tiempo, de diálogo y de interpretación, queda una impresión general de banalidad. La impresión que me deja esta serie y otras recientes es que la tele no es para adultos. Parece querer captar público… pero el infantil y juvenil, y que me perdone (pensemos en la escena de artes marciales entre Víctor Ros y sus atacantes en la calle). El drama -si es lo que quieren transmitir- se consigue si se parece a la vida, con su humor y sus fallos. El humor en esta serie no existe, pese a los tibios intentos de Tomás del Estal (Luis Blázquez) y Víctor Ros es peeerfecto. La ambientación del XIX llena la vista, pero no basta: también se vivía en ese siglo.
Luego vi el documental “La España de Víctor Ros”. Creí que era una broma. Me enseñaron un poco de mierda y una lombriz en una alcantarilla, algunas curiosidades policiales y a toda clase de frikis hablando de sus frikadas morbosas. Si esa fuera la España de Víctor Ros, ahora España sería de otra manera, eso seguro.
