Todos pensaban que sería la noche de El cuento de la Criada, pero Juego de Tronos terminaba imponiéndose por tercera vez en su historia. De hecho, la serie de la HBO también suponía el tercer Emmy para Peter Dinklage y su Tyrion. La despedida de The Americans y el cambio de tercio de The Crown lograban sendos reconocimientos en una gala llena de sorpresas.
